Transfer Manager

The Transfer Manager displays the status of all of your incoming domain transfers. Transferring domains between registrars is a strictly regulated process that can undergo various paths before the transfer is completed. It is our goal to provide as much information as possible to keep you up-to-date on the status of your transfers.

Transfer Manager Home Page

Here you will be able to view the status of each transfer request broken down by the following statuses:

  • Transfers Requiring Action - Any domains listed here are in a holding pattern until you perform an action. To complete these transfers, you will need to perform the necessary action.
  • Pending Transfers - Domains listed in this section are currently being processed and no action is required at this time.
  • Completed Transfers - The domains listed in this section have been completed and no more action will be undertaken.
  • Pending Outbound Transfers - Any domains you have selected to transfer to a different registrar will be listed in this section. Once you have confirmed the transfer with the gaining registrar, you will have the ability to approve the transfer from this section. Once you do so and your transfer will be completed within 15 minutes.

Transfer Statuses

As mentioned above, there are a number of different statuses we utilize to keep you as up-to-date as possible concerning the state of your transfer request. Each status is accompanied by a description of that status. Also, many statuses will recommend that you access the Transfer Log in order to see more details concerning the specific reason(s) your transfer is currently in that status.

When Will My Transfer Finish?

Once our system submits the transfer to the central registry, there are a few factors that will determine exactly when the transfer will complete. If your current registrar allows, you may be able to approve the transfer request from your account on their site. Assuming you do and the transfer will complete within an hour. If your registrar does not allow for outbound approval, or you elect not to approve the transfer, and the transfer will not complete for a period of 5-6 days. There is unfortunately nothing we can do to expedite the process any further and it is completely out of our hands until the registry releases the domain. This "waiting" period is per ICANN rules and applies to all registrars.

We do provide the deadline date and time that the current registrar has in which to reject the transfer, but the registry still may not release the domain until up to 48 hours past that time. Again, there is unfortunately nothing we can do to expedite this process.

Transfer Log

Each transfer request will have an associated "Log" link. Clicking this link will display the entire history of events that have occurred since you submitted your transfer request order. In the log, we will show you the date of each action as well as a description of what occurred. We will also let you know if any further action is required of you at that time.

Re-Send Admin Email

A few statuses could occur that would require you to resend the verification email to the administrative contact for the domain. If this is an available option, you will see an icon indicating such in the "Resend Admin Email" column of the transfer manager.

Enter/Change Authorization Code

Transferring domains from a different registrar requires that you provide that domain's authorization code. The authorization code can only be retrieved from the current registrar of record, and they should provide a mechanism to easily access it. If you did not provide the authorization code at the time of your transfer request order, or if the authorization code you provided is not correct, a link will appear allowing you to enter or change it.

WHOIS

Click the WHOIS icon to display the most recent version of the WHOIS record for your domain that our system has retrieved from the registrar from which the domain is being transferred. The most important item to note in the WHOIS record is to ensure that the administrative contact email address is what you are expecting since our system emails that address for approval to transfer the domain. If the address is not correct, you will need to update it at the current registrar and then click the "Resend Admin Email" icon when it has been updated in WHOIS.

Cancelling

You can cancel your transfer request at any time before the transfer has been completed. If you cancel the domain transfer, we will refund your money by crediting the payment method you used to place the transfer order (minus any transaction fees) within 3 days of cancellation.
