You can reset your password by clicking the Forgot your Password? link on the login page. You will need to enter your username or one of the active domain names in your account, and then enter the answer to your security question. If you answer correctly, we will send an email to the associated account with a link to reset your password.

If you have forgotten your security answer, upload a 3rd party statement of any transactions you have with us here: https://www.namesilo.com/forgot_security_answer.php and our accounts team will send you the link to reset the security answer. If you do not have any transactions with us please open a ticket by sending an email to [email protected] with details of your account like the IP address from which you had accessed your account in the past, as well as the last date of access, account creation date, etc. Please note that the more info you provide the better.

Go to the domain defender page in your account options. At the bottom of the page, under Domain Defender Configuration, change your domain defender status to inactive. You will be prompted with your domain defender questions - answer these questions and click submit to deactivate your domain defender.

If you do not know the answer to these questions, you may use the “Via your email address” option instead, for which you will need to enter your account password and the answer to your main account’s security question. We will then email you a 10-character code which you will need to enter in order to deactivate your domain defender.

Password resets are sent to the email account associated with the username or active domain name entered in the password reset request page. Please make sure you are using the correct email account. If you are using the correct account, make sure to check your spam folders. If you still can’t find the reset email after doing that, email us at [email protected] with the following information:

  • Username/Domain.
  • Proof of a transaction: This can be an image of the transaction (on Paypal, Bitcoin, Alipay, Skrill or Wire) where the name, expiry date and the last 4 digits are clearly visible. Upon verifying this information we will provide you with a link allowing you to reset your password.

If you are unable to access the correct 2FA code you will not be able to enter your NameSilo account, so please follow these steps to configure/reset 2FA for your account:

If you still have the device with the 2FA app, check that your device has the correct time; since 2FA depends on your device having the correct time, even being a couple minutes off will cause problems.

If you have used Authy, as it securely stores your 2FA information for you; therefore, all you have to do is reinstall Authy on another device, login, and it will automatically download your 2FA information.

If you have lost your device or the settings show the correct time and reinstalling your 2FA application did not resolve the issue, you will need to go through the 2FA removal process here: https://www.namesilo.com/two_factor_reset.php

Once you have opened the link above, on 2FA reset page you will be asked for your Username and Password.

If Username and Password correct, the system will request the answer to your Security Question.

Request the 2FA reset code via Email or Phone.

Type the code you have just received via email or sms and click Submit.

If the code submitted is correct, 2FA will be disabled for your account, and you will be able to login using your username and password

If you have forgotten the answer to your Secret Question, you will need to go through steps to recover Secret Answer here: https://www.namesilo.com/forgot_security_answer.php
